Logging into a Site
How to login to a site. This topic covers the minimum information that is required to login, however additional information such as name, address details and contact details may be required on some sites.
- Click the Login link (typically located in the top right corner of each page) - OR - Navigate to an Account Login module.
- In the Username text box, enter your username.
- In the Password text box, enter your password.
- Optional. At Remember Login, mark
the check box to retain login credentials. Because this feature adds a cookie to the computer of the current user it will only work on that computer. The login details expire after 24 hours.

Click the Login button.
- Optional. First time users may need to verify their email to complete the registration process.
Once logged into the site, users can view any messages or notifications that have been sent to their user account. Users can also click on their Display Name to complete their user profile information.
The following messages may be displayed if login is unsuccessful:
- "Login Failed, remember that Passwords are case sensitive": Attempt to logging in again, ensuring Caps Lock is not selected on the keyboard. If unsuccessful, check the user name and password details are correct, as detailed in the Welcome message. If still unsuccessful, See "Resetting your Password".
- "This account has been locked out after too many unsuccessful login attempts. Please contact your administrator." Users are now prevented from logging in, even with the correct details, until an unlocks the account.
- "This account has been locked out after too many unsuccessful login attempts. Please wait 10 minutes before trying to login again. If you have forgotten your password, please try the Password Reminder option before contacting an ." Users are now prevented from logging in until their user account automatically unlocks itself according to the number of minutes displayed in the system message. Alternatively, contact an to unlock the account.
